Why Is It Bad to Pop a Pimple ?

i keep hearing that its bad to pop any pimple. I no that sometimes you may get scabs or scars but my white headed pimples just get bigger , now i don't really have any because i wash my face, but i used to have a lot and would always pop them and nothing seemed to happen unless it started to bleed. can someone tell me exactly why you cant pop them?Why Is It Bad to Pop a Pimple ?
You can pop them. I always do. And they always go away fast and never scar.





Just make sure you wait until you're SURE pus will come out.


If not, you're just gonna bother it and make it bigger.





As soon as you get all the pus out, put benzyol peroxide (10%) on it LIGHTLY and it will be all dry and shrivled in the morning. And then you can cover it. (:





Unless you have skin that scars easily it should go away like new like 3 days after you pop it. It's fun!





They tell you not to pop it because you can spread acne by getting the nasty stuff from IN your pimple all over your face and get brand new baby pimples.Why Is It Bad to Pop a Pimple ?

basically, by popping it... you spread the bacteria around. yesh, but it could also be happening UNDERNEATH the skin which we can't see. all the ghastly stuff was not squeezed out completely, and it's still in your pore. plus, it may spread else where.

it's a dressing called hydrocolloid, costing $2 per strip in reality. my sister is a nurse. practically, it's supposed to be expensive. :3





it absorbs oil, pus, and prevent bacteria to your pimple/acne. plus, when your hand 'involuntarily' touches your pumple. FINALLY! no bacteria, and you can't burst it either.





also, maybe you're just lucky when it comes to scars. or maybe you're still young? i'm not sure. X)
Well my skin doctor always told me it was because when you pop a pimple the oils in the pimple seep out onto the rest of you skin, the oils then create more pimples. And since the oils are now on your hands and we has humans have a tendency to touch our face a lot the oils of the popped pimple are rubbed all over your face causing more blackheads and such. they will leave scars on your face, my mom poped them when she was younger and her whole face is scared. also by popping them it actaully puts more bacteria and oil in the open wound and can cause pimples to get bigger and actually hurt, just leave them alone and they will go away on there own
You can get scars, ice pick scars, scabs, etc. Sometimes you might be squeezing it too much and that may push that gunk in farther. It could get infected so you'll end up wearing green pus pimples haha.





It's mainly about the appearance of your skin.





Just use a medication next time.
it causes a small opening when popped causing the puss and bacteria to force its way up and spreads around the area....now thats if you pop it wrong!





Number one...make sure its ready, it should be bulging with puss at the very surface.


Two...put both index fingers on each side of pimple and press down while stretching the skin away from the pimple.


Then squeeze the pimple lightly. Never to hard.


If it dosnt give, then try later.





after it is popped take a cotton swab and dab with alchohal then dab with neasporin!
Apparently it just pushes the 'white' part out, and other bacteria further back into the skin.


Although this may happen, I really don't think it makes a difference.


Mine go away after I pop them, and stay for longer if I don't.

I would pop mine too, at home in the bathroom with a tissue and some hydrogen peroxide. hurt like a ***** but i'd get all the puss and blood out, put a cold compress on it, and be good to go with a minor amt. of cover up the next day.
If you pop them, then it's like picking a scab off; you're damaging something more when it's trying to heal. Sometimes you need to let it run it's course.
the stuff that comes out when you pop the pimple and continues to slightly leak out in a small amount even if u cant see it has all the bacteria that will cause more pimples. if you do pop one make sure you clean the area immediately.
If you pop them there is a possibility of them getting infected because they become an open wound.
Because it causes skin scarring, you'll see it especially as you get older.
Yes, it is likely to get infected. Go to a dermatologist.
because there would be a permanent mark right were the pimple was poped, and it would never go away...that's all i know
